SkyBahamas Airlines Ltd. first began with regular flights into Exuma. Today SkyBahamas Airlines Ltd. not only continues service into Exuma but has now expanded its routes to Freeport, Grand Bahama; Bimini; Marsh Harbour, Abaco; New Bight and Athur's Town, Cat Island; and its latest addition, Providenciales, Turks & Caicos.

SkyBahamas Airlines Profile

SkyBahamas Airlines is making significant waves (turbulence) in the Domestic and International Air Travel Industry.  It has emerged as the “young, chic, professional and service based” Bahamian Airline of choice.

The company began operations in 2006, and assumed new leadership under Captain Randy Butler (President & CEO and a visionary Board of Directors) in September 2008.  Since then, company assets have almost tripled, staff has grown by over 40%, market share has increased from three routes to thirteen approved routes and the company boasts of having some of the most experienced and qualified pilots in the industry.

As of 2011, the airline which in based out of Nassau services Exuma (its birthplace), Freeport, Abaco,  Arthur’s Town and New Bight Cat Island, San Salvador and Ft. Lauderdale on a scheduled basis.  Additionally it also has scheduled approvals for Andros, Eleuthera, Turks and Caicos,  Haiti, Jamaica, West Palm Beach and Orlando. 

The company operates a fleet of four SAAB 340A (33 seater aircrafts) and one Beechcraft 1900 D (19 seater aircraft), with a highly trained Maintenance Department that focuses on a Culture of Safety.

Since the company’s inception it has given back in excess of a quarter of a million dollars towards community, academic, charitable and civic causes through its partnership with over 300 organizations.  In addition to leading the way as an airline philanthropist after the devastating earthquake in Haiti, SkyBahamas has adopted schools in Exuma, Abaco, Cat Island, Freeport and Andros and is also the only airline and perhaps company to have adopted and maintains a Children’s Home/Orphanage.
